Responsible Gambling Tools Every Player Should Use
Online gambling should be entertainment with a budget, like a night out. Regulated casinos are required to give you tools that keep it that way; the good ones make those tools easy to find. Here is what to look for and how to use them.
Deposit limits
Set a daily, weekly or monthly cap the moment you open an account, while you are thinking clearly. Increases should take effect only after a cooling-off period (24 hours or more); decreases should apply immediately. If a site lets you raise a limit instantly, that is a mark against it.
Reality checks and session timers
A pop-up every 30 or 60 minutes showing time played and net result. It sounds trivial; it is one of the most effective interruptions available.
Time-outs and self-exclusion
A time-out locks your account for 24 hours to six weeks. Self-exclusion locks it for six months to five years, or permanently, and on Tier 1 licences feeds a national register (GamStop in the UK, state programmes in the US) that blocks you across every licensed operator.
Warning signs
Chasing losses, borrowing to deposit, hiding play from people close to you, or gambling to escape stress. If any of these sound familiar, use the self-exclusion tools and talk to someone.
Where to get help
UK: GamCare (0808 8020 133) and BeGambleAware. US: National Council on Problem Gambling helpline (1-800-GAMBLER). International: Gamblers Anonymous. Our responsible gambling page keeps an up-to-date list.
Two brands we list already ship every tool above
We hold iGamingAtlas partner brands to the same checklist as everyone else — and publish the result. Here is how ONCASI and LONGTIAN.BET score against the tools in this guide.
- Deposit and loss limitsDaily, weekly and monthly, measured on a rolling window rather than resetting at midnight. LO ON
- Increases wait, decreases do notRaising or removing a limit takes 24 hours to come into force. Lowering one applies the moment you save it — the test this guide sets. LO ON
- Reality checksAn interruption every 15, 30 or 60 minutes showing time played and where you stand. LO ON
- Session time limitChoose 30 minutes to 8 hours; the server signs you out when you reach it. LO ON
- Time-outA short break of 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. LO ON
- Self-exclusionSix months, one year, five years or permanent. LO ON
- Enforced server-sideA reached limit blocks the game launch itself, not just the button — so it holds on mobile, in the app and on a second tab. LO ON
The tools live in the account area under Responsible Gaming Tools, so you need to be signed in to see them. Neither brand feeds a national self-exclusion register — those exist only under Tier 1 licences such as GamStop in the UK, as the guide explains.
Disclosure. Both brands are operated by the same group as iGamingAtlas. The list above was checked against each site's own code, not its marketing — see how the Atlas Score works and our affiliate disclosure.
